Today we are very pleased to announce an exclusive Burgundy evening at Cabotte, London’s most renowned Burgundy restaurant. IG Wines alongside Patrick McGrath MW, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Hatch Mansfield, are very excited to showcase, for the very first time, the top wines from Hatch’s portfolio. This spans from their top Louis Jadot appellations to the Maconnais powerhouse Domaine Ferret without forgetting Taittinger Comtes de Champagne, their flagship champagne loved by all!
Maison Louis Jadot needs little introduction as one of the biggest owners and domaines in Burgundy. Their best plots often produce spectacular wines at more attractive prices than some of the more specialist domaines. Domaine Ferret has been one of Macon’s most knowledgeable growers and was responsible for establishing the classification of Tête de Cru and Hors Classe. Finally, Taittinger’s flagship ‘prestige cuvee’ Comtes de Champagne is the vanguard of Blanc de Blancs Champagnes on the market and shows exceptional value for such a exceptional prestige cuvee!
The selection of wines that will be enjoyed on the evening will start with Taittinger Comtes 2007 for the Champagne reception followed by Domaine Ferret’s Pouilly Fuisse Les Perrieres 2016 and 2017 served with the starters. This will lead in to Louis Jadot’s Puligny Montrachet Les Referts 2015 for the middle course. On to Louis Jadot’s reds! The main course will showcase two exceptional vineyards from Gevrey Chambertin and Morey Saint Denis which Louis Jadot has mastered; 1er Cru Les Cazetiers 2017 and the stunning Clos de la Roche 2009. Finally, maybe the best of them all, Bonnes Mares 2011 will conclude the evening.
These superb wines will be expertly paired throughout with Cabotte’s delicious Burgundy inspired cuisine in their private dining room, Jeroboam! Named after the small huts that Burgundy winegrowers have within their vineyards, Cabotte is one of London’s most recognised Burgundian restaurants boasting one of the most extensive and eye watering top Burgundy wine lists. This makes Cabotte the perfect location to showcase both Louis Jadot and Domaine Ferret! Their private dining room will be the ideal setting to taste a very serious selection of wines from Hatch Mansfield alongside outstanding food.
