After six years of working for Robert Parker Antonio Galloni is leaving The Wine Advocate to launch his own business. The announcement was made earlier this week on his new website antoniogalloni.com.
Galloni’s main focus is on Burgundy, California, Champagne and Italy, and he will also expand into other regions, hiring critics to help. He states “In growing this new project my priority is to build a team of the highest-level professionals – appreciating of course, that world-class talent is rare and hard to find”.
He will start by including work of his from past last ten years, this includes some 25,000 reviews and several hundred articles.
Subcribers have expressed their concerns over The Wine Advocates future now that Gallioni has left and Parker is no longer editor-in-chief.
