This morning we are delighted to be able to offer an incredible selection of the very best Burgundy, all ready to drink. The selection below comes from a private cellar, which has been beautifully curated from the leading Estates in the leading vintages. The selection includes Rousseau Chambertin, Rousseau Clos de Beze, DRC Echezeaux, Hudelot-Noellat RSV from one of the greatest ever Burgundy vintages, the spelling binding 1999, these are just brilliant wines. In total it boasts eight different Rousseau single bottles, four Rouget, including Cros Parantoux, five vintages of Dujac Clos de la Roche and a Bonnes Mares. Moreover, we have a Grand Cru Musigny from both De Vogue and Roumier.
Finally, there are four bottles of DRC, including two DRC Marey-Monge. Indulge me an explanation: for there are very few bottlings of Domaine Marey-Monge on the market, all before 1972, some showing the DRC label. It was once an estate in its own right, in 1966 it was leased by DRC ‘en fermage’, whereby DRC continued to use their label. In 1973, the Marey-Monge was abandoned, replaced by the DRC label, retaining ‘Marey-Monge’ as an indicator, which is nebulous indeed when they needed new labels for the 1972 vintage. In 1988 the estate was purchased by DRC, then in 1989-1992 the Marey-Monge was dropped, only to be reinstated in 1993, whereon they continued as DRC Romanee St Vivant Marey-Monge until the present day. The 1971 and 1972 are rarer than hens teeth.
