Vintage variation impacts a wine’s potential for ageing, conditions for drinking and investment horizon. Our vintage graph is designed to give an overview of all modern vintages dating back to 1982 across the world’s key fine wine regions. We have ranked each vintage’s quality out of ten based on current tasting notes from the industry’s leading critics; the scores reflect a function of the vintages current drinking and future potential. As a rule, wines with higher scores will age better and for longer than lower scoring vintages.
The icons are designed to show whether a wine would benefit from further ageing, is approachable now but will still benefit from further ageing, or is recommended for drinking now.
