- Year: 2010
- Region: Tuscany
- Producer: Italy
- Classification: Super Tuscan
- Format: 12x75
Review notes Score: 91 Critic: Antonio Galloni
The 2010 Sassicaia is intensely saline, savory and energetic. Rosemary, sage, plums and black cherry notes meld into graphite, crushed rocks and a host of other more mineral-inflected nuances. Beautifully persistent and chiseled in the glass, the 2010 is ultimately all about energy. This is going to be a fascinating vintage to follow. Antonio Galloni The fact that the Sassicaia 2010 has been awarded 96 points means that it now equals the 96 point 2008, a wine we view as undervalued at £1,260 (£630 in a six pack), the 97 point 2007 trades at £1,700 a case. The 2010 is instantly undervalued for £1,100 and considering that Sassicaia is now considered the first growth of Italy it is one to own for investment and to drink in years to come.
